Musical Therapy is literally an lyrical therapy session with a beat and a melody. With songs like "My Mind" and "Real You", his project describes his heartbroken thoughts, and his distorted views on today’s society. Every beat is a showcase of his own production, highlighting his musicianship with his guitar and his appreciation of the old-school with his soulful samples. The project is the first release of his series of musical therapy.
Jim E. Watts, formerly known as J-DUB, grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Watts is an all-around musician (saxophonist, guitarist, pianist drummer and hip-hop artist). He has been producing music since the age of 13, and writing since 15. With his nostalgic, therapeutic and ear pleasing sound, Watts's music is influenced by artist such as Andre 3000, Lauryn Hill, Eyrka Badu, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Prince, Jamiroquai and Sade. His music stands to tell a tale of heartbreak and life experience. Every song is from the heart making him relatable, which allows his words to cut deeper. Unapologetically unafraid of being different or willing to stray from the social norms, music has become Watts’s therapeutic release.
